About the Internship
The HUX AI Research Internship is a volunteer-based, project-driven program designed for students and early-career professionals who want to explore real-world applications of responsible AI and data governance.
Interns will join HUX AI for a 6- or 9-week period to work on hands-on, impact-oriented micro-projects aimed at increasing AI literacy, operationalizing governance frameworks, and enabling safer AI adoption across sectors.
Interns will receive mentorship and feedback from the HUX AI team, engage in weekly check-ins, and contribute to high-quality, practical deliverables that support public and organizational understanding of emerging AI standards.
Research Internship Program Start: 4th of August 2025
Project Tracks (Candidates can express a preference or be assigned based on fit):
Project 1: ISO 42001 Starter Guide
Design a beginner-friendly guide to help organizations take their first steps toward aligning with ISO 42001.
Deliverables:
Plain-language guide to ISO 42001
Self-assessment checklist (PDF or Excel)
Visual “Where to Begin?” roadmap
Project 2: AI Literacy Playbook for Project Managers
Create a 5–7 page, illustrated handbook explaining key AI ethics and governance topics to non-technical project managers.
Deliverables:
Illustrated playbook with real-world examples
Glossary of essential AI terms
Shareable PDF + slide version
Project 3: AI Governance Starter Kit for SMEs
Develop practical templates and a lightweight governance framework tailored to small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Deliverables:
3 editable policy templates
A short governance manual
Visual role/responsibility chart
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
We welcome applications from undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to: public policy, data science, international relations, business, law, design, and computer science.
We are especially looking for individuals who demonstrate:
Clear and effective writing
Strong organizational or research skills
Curiosity about AI ethics, governance, and standards
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Openness to feedback and collaboration
Prior experience in AI or policy is not required, but an eagerness to learn and contribute is essential.
Duration and Commitment
Internships are part-time and remote, offered in two tracks:
6 weeks
9 weeks
All interns will:
Join a welcome orientation
Attend weekly project check-ins
Receive feedback from HUX AI mentors
Be acknowledged in final project outputs
This is a volunteer-based internship. However, select outstanding contributors may be invited to collaborate on future paid research work or receive formal recommendation letters from HUX AI leadership.
